With the Spanish economy finally returning to growth, foreign investors are back. Although not out of the woods yet, optimism and signs of growth are starting to show along the Costa del Sol with new supermarkets, restaurants and health clubs appearing along the coastline.
Some recent additions
The opening of the Carrefour hypermarket in Mijas in 2014 has seen a transformation in the product offering in the area. Covering 10,000 Sq meters and with parking for 550 cars, it is a truly international store serving over 113 nationalities that live in the area. A new Mercadona on the Coin road, less than 2 kilometres from Puebla Aida, is a welcome addition to the area. This popular Spanish supermarket chain offers great products at good prices and will deliver to your home on certain orders.
Raquetas de Mijas is a brand new health club featuring padel, tennis, gym and fitness classes, opening in June 2014 on the Coin road, just minutes away from Puebla Aida.
Da Bruno Restaurant
The established Italian family restaurant Da Bruno opened most recently in Mijas, on the Mijas road. With a lovely outside courtyard, excellent food and live music most nights, this restaurant is proving a popular choice for lunch and dinner 6 days a week.
